Each box is shared by two sites, and some are placed among trees, so you may be limited on how you park unless you have a long enough cord. Our only negative is that the electric boxes in some of the sites are awkwardly placed. The bathrooms were open but the drinking fountains had not yet been turned on. This early in the season, the staff was busy cleaning and repairing sites. They sell a quarter cord of firewood for only $20, delivered right to your site, which was really nice. There's a pretty good hill on the walk from the Bluff down to the beach, so if you have anything to carry, a wagon of some sort would be good. Docks weren't open yet, but we were able to put in our kayak near the cabin area with no problem. Beautiful view of the sunset with just short walk over to the fence on the bluff. ![]() We were one of only 4 other campers in the electric sites, so it was nice and quiet. We were eager to try out our new RV, and Fair Haven was one of the first parks to open for the year. Then again it's ok to be woken up at 5:30 both mornings by revving engines and loud banging and children running around yelling. So our trip with our boys ended early the second night because we all had to be by ourselves at our site. We were warned that wasn't allowed and we all had to be at our own sites and tents by 10 and he would make sure the next shift knew about it and threatened us with tickets. We we're all in bed sleeping by 12-1 easily! All the boys had slept in the same tent so they could hang out. The next morning another police officer came and said he was trying to get to the bottom of the situation because we were apparently up until 3am and being drunk and disorderly! So far from the truth. We had about 5-6 sites together for all of us to hang out. I wish that they had more electric sites, or even some with full hook-ups, and the line at the dumping station is long at check-out time. I have do so as a child, and it never disappoints. We were forced to leave the site we were on and essentially put to bed like children. 13 reviews of Fair Haven Beach State Park 'Awesome NY State Park. Half an hour later he approached us again with an attitude and said it was our second warning and he is telling us we are to be quiet and adding in how we weren't suppose to be any another persons site after 10 and not to have any music going Either. Even though we were far from being loud we said ok we will make sure to keep it down. Our first night at approx 10:15 we were approached by the park police and was told we had to be quiet because the quiet time was 10 pm. We had a large group bring our young teen boys here for a get together since they missed out on their school trip This year due to covid. The park police and the "rules" they have are absolutely ridiculous and have made mine and many others decision not to go here again.
